Grand America Hotel Salt Lake City - Afternoon Tea
By Tiffany Detweiler - Thursday, May 11, 2017
Mothers Day is this weekend and i'm lucky to have two moms to celebrate with, my Mom and Mom In-Law! I decided it would be easiest on everyone's schedules to celebrate a little early, my Daughter also joined us so it was a true Mother/Daughter celebration! I am a lover of Tea and all things British so finding out The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City offered Afternoon Tea and served Gluten free options made my heart soar!
Not only were we treated to an amazing atmosphere thanks to fresh flowers and beautiful decor but also there was live Harp music!
We started our Tea with these delicious Strawberry Cheesecake Mousse cups! Gluten free and yummy!
After we ordered our tea we were treated to an assortment of lovely finger foods! They even have a specialty kid plate that includes a strawberry and Nutella sandwich, cheese and ham, PB&Jelly, turkey and peanut butter and banana with blueberries!
Don't those all look delicious! Now I have to apologize for those that are Gluten Free because none of those goodies are gluten Free and I forgot to take a picture of my plate! I will say that my gluten free plate (which was brought out separately) was filled with seasonal roasted vegetables, glazed figs, avocado and tangerine toast and a tomato tapenade toast! It was delicious!
My fruit plate with fresh fruits was perfect for a Spring time Afternoon tea!
Fresh Lemon Curd, Clotted Cream and Raspberry Jam which was served with scones!
The dessert tray! The top tier is all gluten free goodies and I was also served a very refreshing sorbet!
The Strawberry Mousse Macarons were perfection!
My daughter really liked the Raspberry tarts, she said the raspberries were some of the tastiest she has ever had!
After we had all ate and drank our fill we decided to explore the courtyard garden and what a sight it was! Beautiful flowers and fountains!
We had such a great time having Tea and eating goodies that we will be making a return visit soon! I highly recommend calling and making a reservation! The Chefs at the Grand America are incredibly flexible and creative, if you need a guests plate modified to accommodate an allergy just let them know when making the reservation! This is definitely something we will do again for a special ladies afternoon or Birthday's!
