What a treat it was to shoot Scott and Susan's wedding with Sara from Growing Tree Photography and Renee Descoutures Photography! Scott and Susan were married on a beautiful day in July in Madison, CT and then took the party to Branford, CT to celebrate at the Owenego Beach and Tennis Club! It was such a fun event and it allowed for me to travel and explore more of the state! Congratulations Scott and Susan, I wish you many years of love and joy and I'm honored that I was able to help capture your special day!

Scott and his groomsmen got ready at the Scranton Seahorse Inn, a colonial home from 1833 that has been remodeled and turned into a cozy Inn!

Seriously, how beautiful does Susan look! She is glowing as she heads down the aisle to be married!

We are big on reading in my house! I've always been an avid reader and my mom would constantly tell me she couldn't afford to keep up with my reading habit so I either had to read through my new books slower or go to the library! Well, it would seem my kids have inherited my love of reading and in effort of NOT depleting college funds we have made visiting the library a priority. 

This morning bright and early both my kids crawled into bed with me toting books they wanted to look at/have read to them and despite my initial instinct of telling them to go read in their own beds so mommy could sleep more, we snuggled up under the covers and red tongue tying rhymes of Dr. Seuss! Trust me, I like my sleep...but before I know it they will have grown up and will be less eager to share the things they are most excited about with me! 

Plus, who needs sleep when you have One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish to read about!

Instagram, its my medium of choice when taking pictures with my iPhone! Its a great camera App and the Instagram community is beyond friendly, creative and inspiring! If you have an iPhone and like taking pictures, use this App!!

Okay, so at this point you all probably know of or have at least heard of Pinterest. I decided to reserve judgment till I figured the whole thing out and had successfully immersed myself into the world of "Pinning". Now that I've been "Pinning" for awhile I can safely say that Pinterest is basically crack for someone like me, and by "someone like me" I mean an individual who is easily distracted by pretty shiny things!

Lots of Pretty pictures! Essentially, if you are browsing around online and see something you love (like an outfit, home decor, yummy food...whatever) you can "pin" the images to your various inspiration boards. Basically its the modern version of cutting images out of a magazine and pinning them to a cork board! That may not seem very addicting, but trust me, Its SO easy to get sucked into all the DIY inspiration, fashion ideas, photography and art! Seriously, its super addicting because its ALL about the images and, well, I get distracted by all the awesome!

Truthfully though, it is awesome, when used wisely! Thanks to pinterest I have learned...

 

Not to mention all the funny illustrations and comics...

The fact of the matter is, there are A LOT of creative people out there and Pinterest has made it super easy to share all that creativity! The site is simple enough, its just looking at pictures and that is what I call "user friendly"!

But don't worry, if your like me and are easily distracted by all the pretty pictures and find yourself neglecting work, family and friends for Pinterest, I have setup a "Pinterest-aholics Support Group" we can help and support one another with our pinning addiction!

I'll let you know where and when just as soon as I'm done pinning this recipe and summer outfit inspiration ;-)
