Yes, still playing catch-up, I'm sure by the time February hits I'll be ready for 2011! With all the traveling we didn't have time to celebrate my little man's birthday before Christmas, which is what we normally do since he is a Christmas baby. Instead we celebrated on New Years Eve with silly string, sparklers, Jack's favorite dinner, presents and a giant strawberry cake (everything he requested)! Its hard to believe my baby boy is 4, it feels like just yesterday James and I were headed to the hospital bright and early Christmas morning to meet this little boy! As each year passes James and I are more enriched and blessed by his contagious laugh, charming smile and witty mind, we are so thankful to be his parents!

This past October I shot a rehearsal dinner for a lovely couple (Matt and Vaun, I'll be sharing their wedding images soon!) at the River Ranch Lodge and Restaurant. It was my first time at this establishment but I instantly fell in love with its warm atmosphere and beautiful location! Not only do they host private parties but they also do weddings on the back balcony which gives a gorgeous view of the pines and the Truckee River! If you plan on being in the Lake Tahoe Area I highly recommend stopping in and enjoying the spectacular views and the amazing cuisine, trust me when I say you will enjoy all that the River Ranch has to offer!

Last year was my first year attending WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) in Las Vegas, NV. It was a fantastic experience full of lots of learning, inspiration, motivation and yes a little bit of gambling. I saw many speakers and heard a lot of great things but what made my trip to Las Vegas worth every penny I spent (and gambled) was Justin and Mary’s class, "Creating Loyalty Beyond Reason". I was SO very inspired by their honest and open approach to business and wedding photography! I came home and told James, Justin and Mary rocked it and I would go to WPPI again just to be in another one of their classes! Well, guess what?! They are speaking again this year! The topic, "How to Be a Rainmaker" is on Thursday, Feb 24th at 9am! If you are attending WPPI, go to their class! You will not regret it, I can guarantee you will walk away feeling inspired and ready to take on 2011!

I, unfortunately won’t be able to attended their class this year, I’ll be headed back home that morning…this made me super sad! I was contemplating changing my travel plans so I could attend their class, until… I came across their latest blog post titled, WPPI Shoot Out w/J&M! What the what, they are doing a workshop in Vegas!!?? Not only are they doing a workshop...oh but its FREE for 20 lucky contestants! That’s right, a workshop and a contest to attend for FREE! Holy-moley I want to win! Being able to attend their workshop will totally makeup for not being able to attend their class on Thursday the 24th at 9am ;-)

Although the workshop is at 7am (Tuesday, Feb 22nd), I know I will have no trouble waking up and feeling eager to learn and participate with the 19 other workshop attendees! Plus, I’m used to getting up early since my kids usually have me up before 7am most mornings, no matter how much I bribe them with cookies and video games to stay in bed! Here’s to hoping I’m one of the lucky 20 to enjoy a brisk NV morning with Justin and Mary!

I know its 2011 but I still have some sessions and Weddings from 2010 I want to share, so bare with me as I stay in 2010 for a little while longer! 

This one is near and dear to my heart because i've know Jenna since High School! I was SO honored to shoot her wedding and be apart of the celebration! I also got to work with two of my favorite ladies, Fawn Parsons and Erin Venters, they are wonderful friends and gifted photographers! Truth be told I was having so much fun with all my friends and so happy for Jenna and Greg that this didn't feel like work at all! Jenna and Greg thank you a million times for having us be apart of your special day, I wish you both a marriage full of love and laughter! Here are just a few images from their day...
