Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Fawn and I photographed a beautiful wedding on Saturday and we'll be sharing images from that soon! In the mean time I'm SUPER excited to share more images from Mandy and Johns Engagement session! I will be breaking the posts up into two parts so I can share the maximum amount of images! Part 1 - we setup a simple picnic in Verdi, NV for our love birds to enjoy the beautiful weather and each other! The yummy sweets were provided by the totally amazing
Stay tuned Part 2 will be up later this week!
Its pretty common knowledge that I love birds and owls! I have an abundance of cute feathery birds, clothing, wall stickers, a wallet, jewelry...oh yeah and Pure Photography's logo!! Because of this little known fact one of our fabulous Bride's, Anna, sent both Fawn and I copies of the children's book her mother (Bettie Mae Conradt-Nigro) wrote about birds, "The Birds Outside the Window"! I was so excited about the book I wanted to share it with everyone!
How cute is this!
"The Birds Outside the Window" is an adorable book about a family who cares for the birds in their backyard and at the back of the book their is information on how you can care for and feed the birds in your own backyard!
Do you remember the Movie "Mary Poppins", I love that movie and I adore all the songs (Julie Andrews is awesome)! Well, even Mary Poppins sings about feeding the birds and caring for even the smallest of creatures!
Mary Poppins is a classic but the term of "Feeding the Birds" is alive and well in today's Pop Culture! One of my favorite actors Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog and Castle) has coined the new slang term, "Feed the Birds" meaning to give props to someone!
"The Birds Outside the Window" Is such a cute little book and a perfect way to introduce your little ones to the animals in their backyard!
Have a wonderful Friday and remember to Feed the Birds!
Fawn and I spent an afternoon at the University of Reno Nevada photographing Jay's senior portraits. He will be attending in the fall and we took the afternoon to explore some of the campus! He is also a very gifted saxophone player so we had to incorporate that!
My husband attended school here and I spent many afternoons walking these grounds with him, our favorite time was in the spring when all the baby ducks would be running around! It was nice to be back and reminisce!
We had so much fun with Jay and his mom! Jay, we wish you nothing but the best in the years to come and we know your future is full of endless possibilities!

Fawn and I had the great pleasure of hanging out with Mandy and John this past Saturday to shoot their engagement session! They are such a wonderful couple and I'm SUPER excited to be working with them! Here is just a little sneak peek of the wonderfulness to come!
I'm a visual person, so even though something can be described brilliantly I still LOVE seeing pictures or illustrations of it! Because of this I completely understand when people ask to see what our wedding albums look like instead of just having me describe them! Since we love taking pictures that tell a story we wanted to compile those pictures in a story book format. So our albums are designed to look and feel like a book, a book containing part of your love story!
Your book is custom designed by me and we offer a handful of vintage book cover options. Like most traditional books there is a beginning, middle and end. So, I choose images from your wedding day that help tell the story in chronological order. The images are a combination of portraits, candid shots and details spanning the whole day!
One of my favorite features is the lay-flat pages!
And you can either leave your book out on your coffee table for guests to look through or you can store it in a simple yet lovely archival box!
Everyone's love story deserves to be documented and preserved so years from now you can share it with your grandchildren!
